Adventurous family round trip, without other participants
This varied walking tour is ideal for active families and nature lovers. We discover Sri Lanka in an authentic way: from visiting the elephant orphanage to fascinating insights into its cultural history, and gentle hikes through dense nature to hidden waterfalls. We experience a tuk-tuk safari through green tea plantations and go on a jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park, where wild elephants await us. To finish, we enjoy relaxing days on the south coast.
TOUR 2 – 16 days
Highlights of Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka's highlights on a private tour, entirely at your own pace and charm
We visit the royal city of Polonnaruwa and climb the impressive Sigiriya Lion Rock, as well as Pidurangala Rock. We explore Kandy and its famous Temple of the Tooth. In the Thangamalay Forest Reserve, we embark on unforgettable hikes through the Horton Plains to the spectacular World's End. A magical sunrise from Adam's Peak also awaits us, before we head off on an exciting jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park. To conclude, a beach stay in the south of the country.
TOUR 3 – 10 days
Best of Trekking
The unspoilt highlands, the authentic side of the country. Pekoe Trail Stage 11+12
On this purely trekking tour, we explore the untouched nature of Sri Lanka. We will show you the most imposing panoramas and viewpoints of the highlands – dense forests, hidden waterfalls and vast mountain landscapes that few people know. Some of our hiking trails are known only to our guides. On this tour we will not encounter any other tourists. Together we hike through the fresh mountain air of the eucalyptus forests and let ourselves be enchanted by breathtaking views. This trekking journey shows Sri Lanka at its very best.
TOUR 4 – 2 days
Pekoe Trail Stage 11 + Bambarakanda Waterfall
We hike from Haputale via Ohiya to the Hill Safari Eco Lodge, experiencing Sri Lanka's highlands at their finest on this diverse leg. Along the way, we pass through eucalyptus forests, grassy steppes, endless tea plantations and dense tropical jungle. The highlight is the impressive Bambarakanda waterfall, the country's highest waterfall. We swim and have a picnic at the hidden Lanka Falls.
A rewarding hiking experience far off the beaten track.

Our satisfied guests
Great company from our driver, who always tried to make the best possible for us. The support from the German agency before, during and after the trip was super.
Particularly the variety of activities (safari, train journey, hike in the Thangamalay Reserve, climbing Adam's Peak, etc.) impressed us, as well as the selection of accommodation, ranging from simple and quaint in the Misty Mountains to the upscale bungalow, e.g. in Kottawatta Village.
The organisation and putting together of the trip leaves almost nothing to be desired. With two overnight stays at Udawalawe National Park and four on the secluded beach of Mangrove Beach Tangalle, we still had a wonderful time to relax after the many experiences, sights and trekking tours.
We came to rather „untouristic“ places, which was always a highlight for us. This is how you get to enjoy a really completely different picture of Sri Lanka. … If you are looking for an all-inclusive carefree package, you are certainly in the best hands with Sri Lanka Trekking.
This is Sri Lanka Trekking
As an alternative to anonymous mass tourism, we specialise in the organisation, design and implementation of individual and group tours in Sri Lanka. Our main focuses are trekking, hiking and sightseeing of architectural and scenic attractions.
The main feature of our offer is the customisation of the itinerary, which is left entirely up to you to decide. The excursions presented here can be combined into a personal tour just as you wish. Of course, you can also include destinations, activities and accommodation not presented here in your personal tour. There are fundamentally no limits to your wishes.
You will rarely encounter other tourists on our paths and routes, as they are only known to locals. We try to steer clear of heavily visited tourist spots as much as possible in order to show you the true face of Sri Lanka – and not just the country packaged for tourists.
As responsible individuals, we support the idea of gentle and sustainable tourism in the interests of sustainability, so that not only you as our guest and we as a tour operator benefit from the trip, but also the residents of the country. We try to achieve this through social commitment in the respective local communities. We are not a large corporation, but a collective of local trekking guides and drivers, as well as the organisers in Germany. By financing sustainable projects and working directly with the locals, we practise truly fair tourism.
