About us

Our mission

As an alternative to anonymous mass tourism, we specialise in the organisation, design and implementation of individual and group tours in Sri Lanka. Our main focuses are trekking, hiking and sightseeing of architectural and scenic attractions.

Tailor-made tours

The main feature of our offer is the customisation of the itinerary, which is left entirely up to you to decide. The excursions presented here can be combined into a personal tour just as you wish. Of course, you can also include destinations, activities and accommodation not presented here in your personal tour. There are fundamentally no limits to your wishes.

Off the beaten track

You will rarely encounter other tourists on our paths and routes, as they are only known to locals. We try to steer clear of heavily visited tourist spots as much as possible in order to show you the true face of Sri Lanka – and not just the country packaged for tourists.

Sustainable and fair

As responsible individuals, we support the idea of gentle and sustainable tourism in the interests of sustainability, so that not only you as our guest and we as a tour operator benefit from the trip, but also the residents of the country. We try to achieve this through social commitment in the respective local communities. We are not a large corporation, but a collective of local trekking guides and drivers, as well as the organisers in Germany. By financing sustainable projects and working directly with the locals, we practise truly fair tourism.

MOHIDEEN - Guide

Starting in 1989 with the development and search for suitable hiking trails in this then still untouched mountain region, Mohideen single-handedly did the pioneering work and showed us the vision of what a sustainable and informative trekking journey could be. In doing so, he made this dream job possible for all of us involved.

KOSHI - Driver and licensed Nature Guide

Here's the English translation: With more than 18 years of experience, Koshi acts as one of our best drivers and, at the same time, a trained tour guide. Here you'll meet a highly knowledgeable, conscientious, and remarkably patient character. For us, definitely an irreplaceable team member for Sri Lanka Trekking.

JIM - Trekking Guide

A trekking guide through and through. In this field, no one can hold a candle to Jim. Since the age of 13, Jim has led groups from all over the world through the mountains of his homeland, working as his uncle's assistant. With 30 years of experience, Jim now has an incredibly thorough knowledge of Sri Lanka's plants and animals. Nature-loving hikers will certainly get their money's worth with him. SARAT - Driver / Tourguide

Our most experienced driver — if not one of, or even the most experienced driver in all of Sri Lanka. Sarat has been accompanying guests through his homeland with full dedication since around 1970. On board with him, you'll receive valuable first-hand information on absolutely any topic about Sri Lanka, in the company of a highly knowledgeable, humorous, and above all charming old-school gentleman.

HAFEEL- Guide

Conscientious, polite, and extremely reliable. With him, we have an exemplary local gentleman who himself comes from the mountains, from Bandarawela. Hafeel has an in-depth knowledge of the flora and fauna of his homeland and is certainly a fine example of Sri Lankan hospitality — someone with whom you can also share very enriching conversations that go beyond the hikes themselves.

JAGATH - Fahrer

Engaged as a driver/guide since 2006, Jagath has specialized mainly in supporting family trips. Jagath is a witty and well-informed driver, from whom guests receive not only the classic information about Sri Lanka but also a deeper insight into the everyday life of a Sri Lankan family father.
